Where to see lemurs (without cheating)
Indris, crowned, golden sifakas, ring-tails: the honest guide to encounters, North to South.
The near-guaranteed
In Andasibe, the indri — the world's largest lemur — sings every morning. On Amber Mountain, crowned lemurs cross the main trails. On Nosy Komba, black lemurs have been used to visitors for generations.
The earned ones
The golden-crowned sifaka of Daraina is found nowhere else on Earth — one of the treasures of our Vanilla Coast. In Ranomafana, the golden bamboo lemur demands patience. And everywhere, the nocturnal grail: the mouse lemur, spotted by headlamp.
The golden rule
No feeding outside traditional sites, distance respected, no flash. A wild lemur stays wild.
